To attend the course you need to send proof of the following to the course organisers 2 weeks before the course:
1. E-SRH http://www.e-lfh.org.uk/projects/e-srh/index.html
2. Registered for a FSRH e-portfolio. This registration will ensure you are allocated, and able to access, your e-portfolio for the Course of 5 and clinical experience elements of the training. See Stage 2 here for form: http://www.fsrh.org/pages/Diploma_of_the_FSRH.asp
3. Basic clinical skills
· Adapt your consultation style to suit the patient
· Address patients’ ideas, concerns and expectations and answer their questions
· Assess whether a patient is competent to consent to treatment and ensure consent is well-informed
· Protect confidentiality
· Make an appropriate offer of a chaperone
· Demonstrate clear record-keeping
· Use time effectively in consultations
· Perform a basic gynaecological examination including:
• Digital vaginal examination
• Speculum examination
• Being observed taking a cervical cytology sample and understanding the need for audit of cytology results to confirm competence
Or
Achieved locally agreed competence to participate in cervical cytology screening programme
· Give an intra-muscular injection
You are required to send a print out from your e-portfolio that the above clinical skills has been completed and sent to the course organisers two week prior to the start of the Course of 5.
Failure to do complete 1-3 above will invalidate your Course of 5 attendance for the DFSRH.
Course fees will not be refunded in these circumstances.
It is anticipated that delegates should have little difficulty completing the assessments for the Course of 5 provided they have:
· Completed the e-SRH
· Fulfilled the pre course requirements (consultation skills, pelvic examination etc)
· Done the recommended pre course preparation (as set out in the ‘Guidance to Course of 5 Delegates’, Form DFSRH/C).
